Shaping Your Organization Today
Collective Leadership in practice
Our expert consultants will support you in creating the conditions for successful collective leadership development in your organization.
Today, busy-ness has taken over business, and leadership has been commoditised to a series of ‘how to’. Yet, there is hardly anything more precious in organizational life than individual and collective leadership capabilities.
We create the conditions for Collective Leadership to emerge, develop and thrive in your organization. Our Leadership Interventions focus on aligning existing leadership teams whilst simultaneously developing the leaders of the future.

Also known as “Leading from the Back” – this intervention focuses on awareness, coaching and educational skills.
How we deliver
All of our products have been created by our CEO Dr Leandro Herrero and will be led by him and/or our experienced change and leadership consultants.
We are experts in our fields and creators of our own deliverable tools and methodologies, not just workshop facilitators using off-the-shelf-solutions.
We work with clients on an advisory, consulting and collaborative level. All our programmes are tailored to the specific requirements of the client. Get in touch today to discuss the options available to you.

BUILDING THE NEXT GENERATION OF COLLECTIVE LEADERS - The "Horizons" Programme
Our Horizons programme goes deep into your organization’s needs in terms of skills, capabilities, leadership, and network management. It is a bespoke programme that combines the instructional aspects of collective leadership with hands-on practices to create a community of leaders well beyond the individual educational gain.
During the programme, we will conduct a joint assessment and organize all the activities, including classroom and real-world experiences, for several months of mentoring and exposure to give everyone in the team a chance to experience leadership. This process will create the ‘organization of tomorrow’, which will be led by these people one day. In the end, the borders between the training programme and real-life implementation will be blurred, and the individual gains will be enormous. The benefit to the organization is that it will be prepared for the future, as the high performance team culture with leadership at the forefront of its values is naturally ingrained into the workforce.
Collective Leadership alignment: The Leader with 7 Faces
How we lead is deeply personal. Ultimately, we can only bring ourselves to the table; our personality, feelings, thoughts, skillset and, even more importantly, our experiences and (cultural) background. Together, this creates a unique lens through which we see ourselves, the people we work with, and our challenges. So even when we are looking at the same thing, we often see that ‘thing‘ differently. We may agree upon a new strategy or the need for change, but still end up having a different perception of what it actually ‘is.‘
At The Chalfont Project, we have designed a framework to discover, understand and bridge this diversity: The Leader with Seven Faces.
We all have these faces, but often we show up with only one or two. Identifying and exploring these seven faces of leadership helps uncover true and often hidden values and beliefs and create new leadership skills and capabilities. It improves team alignment and the quality of your decision-making and propels your team to the next level of insights, change and effectiveness.
The Seven Faces are:
“The Educator”, who creates a linguistic framework within which definitive actions can take place. Focus is on language, meaning and intention
“The Cartographer” who creates an organizational “destiny”, and a route to get there. Focus is on journeys and destinations.
“The Architect” who builds the organization’s purpose and provides “spaces” for employees to think, work and learn together. Focus is on building a legacy.
“The Moralist”, who thrives on what they say and do. Focus is on values and beliefs.
“The Stage Manager”, who thinks about the way and “how” of doing things. Focus is on styles and structures.
“The Identity Seeker” who has real self-awareness, as well as an awareness of those around them. Focus is on awareness and corporate responsibility.
“The Corporate Acrobat” who generates action, and has an emphasis on “doing”. Focus is on action and role modelling.

Collective leadership development: The Leader as Architect & Backstage Leadership™
In his books, Viral Change™ and Homo Imitans, Leandro Herrero defines backstage leadership as the type of leadership that supports and facilitates the leadership of others, usually in lower positions in the organization in terms of hierarchy, without being too visible or exercising traditional command and control.
Backstage leadership may be counterintuitive in the territory of typical leadership, where visible role modelling and directional presence are expected from the leaders, particularly senior ones.
The Leader as Architect & Backstage Leadership™ as an intervention is a mixture of awareness, coaching, and educational skilling. We will introduce you to the concept of Backstage Leadership™, how it leads to collective leadership and show what you need to master it as well as explore how it can help your organization improve its culture and become more successful.
During the short course, you will learn:
- What Backstage Leadership™ is, why it’s important and how it works
- The ‘3 hats’ of leadership
- The roles of influencers and hierarchical leaders in backstage leadership
- Why leaders ultimately gain control – rather than losing it – through backstage leadership
